How many pairs of jeans do you own? I counted before writing this post and my total is fourteen. Yes, that’s a 1 followed by a 4. How many do I actually wear? That would be 2, as in T-W-O (maybe three). Getting rid of excess clothing is the newest fashion trend! Project 333is a minimalist fashion challenge that invites you to dress with 33 items or less for 3 months. That includes jewelry, shoes, handbags, tops, shoes, EVERYTHING! People all over the world are sharing their own minimalist fashion adventures on the Project’s website. 33 items may not sound like a lot but once you start listing items out individually, you’ll quickly realize that it is!
If you’re worried about outfit ideas a simple “mix match outfits” search on Pinterest will yield hundreds of results. The picture below shows how you can create 31 unique outfits from just 13 pieces! I recently tossed all but 4 handbags, so taking the leap to clothes doesn’t seem too far fetched. And that’s the approach I recommend – pick a category (shoes, jewelry, etc.) and start there. To get things started, operate with one rule in mind: If you haven’t worn it in a year, toss it immediately – no questions asked – then get rid of duplicates (you only really need one pair of black pants). If you want to take it a bit further, keep only the pieces you absolutely LOVE. #quality over #quantity
